Thank you for your interest in the 2026 Scottsdale Parada del Sol Parade! This historic celebration is run entirely by dedicated volunteers who work year-round to keep this 72-year tradition alive. We’re thrilled you want to be a part of it.
We encourage participation from all members of the community. However, due to space limitations, we are only able to accommodate 125 entries—so please submit your application as soon as possible. Selection will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Motorized Vehicles or Tractors (1950 or older only): $150
- Scouts (per troop/pack): $75
- Non-Profit: $75
- All other entries: $75
- School Bands & Floats: Free
NOTE: All entries must be approved by Parade Chairman Lonny Gibson (602-320-1483). Motorized vehicles newer than 1950 may be accepted based on appearance. Please contact Lonnie for exception.

Parade Scripts
Each entry must include a brief announcer’s script (max 75 words). Scripts will be read aloud during the parade and must be submitted with your application. If no script is received by January 17, 2026, only the entry name will be announced.
Tip: If your group name is difficult to pronounce, please include phonetic spelling.
Participant Requirements
- Mandatory arrival by 7:30 AM at your assigned staging area.
- No political campaigning or partisan materials.
- Entries must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.
- Entries must maintain forward motion—no stopping to perform.
- No candy or items may be tossed or handed out without prior written approval.
- All entries must include a Certificate of Insurance for at least $1,000,000 in general liability, naming: City of Scottsdale and Parada del Sol Historic Parade as additionally insured.
Float & Vehicle Guidelines
- Floats must not exceed 50 feet long, 13 feet high, or 10 feet wide.
- Must carry a fire extinguisher.
- All vehicles must be insured and operated by licensed drivers.
- No loose balloons; balloon arches must be secured.
- No open flames, fireworks, or pyrotechnics.
Animal & Equine Requirements
- No unattended animals at any time.
- Unsafe animals will be removed.
- Children under 6 may not ride horseback.
- Children ages 6–12 must wear ASTM-SEI certified equestrian helmets.
- All animals must be listed on the application, and proof of insurance is required.
- Arizona Equine Rescue Organization will be onsite.
Safety Reminders
- No air horns, alcohol, firearms, or flame devices.
- Do not jump or climb on/off moving vehicles or floats.
- All entries must follow instructions from Parade Officials.
- Violations may result in removal from the parade and loss of future participation privileges.
Special Guests & Dignitaries
Only currently serving elected officials representing Scottsdale will be invited. No campaign materials or electioneering are allowed.
